Very very cool to watch Thea's perspective shift here. Seeing her environment with a new set of eyes. The power of art to change one. Like a powerful relationship, love, death, hallucinogenics, the discovery of art. As a teen, potentially, totally life altering.

Strong C. Really strong. Love the bit about high school, like roaches, still being around after The End. Sharp and bright and sad and flowing.

My hand to heart, B.A. Beyond that, though, all I can think of are the number of teenagers I've been working with who are better writers than I am. At least in their daily correspondence. (And many write me in a second language, as well. Humbling, to say the least.) But the stammers and the stutters, that's something we never grow out of. I hope not, at least--for my work's sake. With that, thank you. C.

excellent. It's getting tense. Great flow. You always have a strength in the stutters, the stammers, the odd but never heavy handed observations. Im an old ass man, but to me the language and perspective sounds totally On point for a smart teenager. Not like an adult talking through a kid. Keep on.
Love

Hello, Kathleen. And thank you for asking. When I approached Bentley about collaborating, the idea for this series was that these pictures were supposedly taken by Cam, the missing teenage boyfriend. The character Thea had no idea he took pictures, because he never showed them to her before he disappeared. So I imagined Thea taping the pictures into the sketchbook Cam bought her, their shared notebook. And further, that after she tapes them there, the images change. I just haven't reached that point in the story yet. I'll get there, though. I will.

Again, much thanks,
C.E.
